Blakeslee, PA
May 19,2010

Once again the Bertil Roos Racing School returned to Pocono International Raceway’s East Track for the 3rd Event of the Bertil Roos Race Series on May 15, 2010.

Group 1
Race 1:
Taking the pole for the second time this year Stuart Rettie would lead the field to the green with Bruce Hamilton, making his first start of the 2010 season, alongside. Stuart would lead the field to the Turn 4 Hairpin where a suspension failure would see his race end. Behind him however, Norman Lizzul would lock up under braking and slid into the rear of the car driven by Andy Ourant and forcing Paul Alspach to go off to avoid contact. All cars would continue to turn 5 where again an incident involving Norman and this time Gary Peck would happen, once again all cars continued. Andy, who started 4th , would enter the pits to have his car checked after the shunt and rejoined 8th, a lap down and would finish there. Up at the front it was Kevin Anderson who when the dust cleared was leading and would do so to the end. He would be followed to the checkered by Toulouse Lafond in 2nd, Alastair McEwan in 3rd, Bruce Hamilton in 4th after a 4 wheels off moment, and Norman Lizzul in 5th.

Race 2:
With Kevin on pole and 2 front runners, Stuart and Andy, starting in the rear this race was shaping up to be the one to watch. When the race started Kevin took a commanding lead while Stuart was charging and at the end of the 3rd lap as already up to 5th place and battling with Gary Peck for 4th, the 2 would dice till a mistake from Gary saw Stuart take advantage and go through. Two laps later the 3rd place runner, Bruce Hamilton, would overshoot Turn 1 and rejoin 8th. At the start of lap 13 entering Turn 1 the cars of Gary Peck and Alastair McEwan came together and saw the race put under a full course yellow and Alastair retiring. When the track went back to green there was 1 lap left to race. Stuart, who restarted 3rd would leap past Toulouse before the Hairpin and then Kevin at Turn 6 to take the lead on the way to the checkered flag. Behind them the cars of Gary and young Paul Alspach would come together in Turn 1, Paul getting the worst of it would finish in the pits.

Group 2
Race 1:
In a close qualifying session veteran Joe Homa would take the pole followed by Mark Vultaggio to set the front row. On the start Mark got the better of Joe going into turn 1, the two while staying close would finish out the race in 1st and 2nd. Behind would come Tim Nichols who would pass Dave Long for 3rd, and rounding out the top 5 is Steve Darrah.
Race 2:
While Race 1 may have seemed quiet Race 2 was not. From the start Mark came under fire from Tim while Joe Homa would keep pressure on both of them. Thiers’s would be a race long battle where on lap 10 Tim made his move on Mark to take the lead. He would hold this spot till lap 14 when just as Mark received a Penalty for dropping his wheels of the track excessively Tim spun. Tim would rejoin as would Mark but the race was now for 2nd as Joe, who stayed in touch with the two, would take the lead and hold it to the end. On lap 11 misfortune fell on rookie contender Peter Cellino whose shift linkage failed and say him retiring from the race. When the race ended it was Joe taking the win, Tim 2nd, Mark 3rd, Dave Long 4th and Steve Darrah rounding out the top 5.
