Bertil Roos Race Series: 2011 Enduro Race (Roebling Road Raceway)

It was that time of year to end the racing seasion in a warm sunny part of the country, Savannah, GA at the extremely fun and fast Roebling Road Raceway.

Segment 1:
After qualifying Paul Alspach had turned the fastest time with a 1:25.40 however since Dennis Macchio would be starting the race pole went to the team of Danyel Delgado (starting) and Peter Strasser with Dennis and Paul starting 2nd. At the start it was Dennis sweeping around the outside in turns 1-2 to take an early lead followed by Federico Mosconi who had a quiet but steady weekend taking time to build up his speed. Danyel at the end of the first lap had dropped to 6th but would now start to make his way back to the front and on lap 3 had passed Alastair McEwan for 5th,  on lap 4 passing Jarett Andretti, son of John Andretti, for 4th and on lap 8 passing Tim Nichols for 3rd. This would only last for 2 laps however as on lap 10 ran afoul of the rule for excessively dropping wheels and had to pit to check the car out. This would promote Jarett back to 3rd, Alastair to 4th and Tim to 5th. Back at the battle for 1st Federico was keeping pressure on Dennis who was having a braking issue but on lap 17 Federico would have an error and spin off rejoining the race in 7th. Battles were happening all through the field especially with Nick Vrolijk, making his first series start, and Earl Ihrie for 9th spot which would eventually be won by Earl. As segment 1 started coming to an end everybody settled into position and prepared to hand it over to their teammates. The end result of Segment 1 was as follows: Dennis in 1st, Jarett in 2nd, Alastair 3rd, Danyel 4th, Tim 5th, new comer Nathan Elsner in 6th, Federico 7th, Justin Fierro in 8th, Earl 9th and Nick finishing in 10th.

Segment 2:
For segment 2 the second driver for each team would now get to race but be sent out in the intervals that they had finished the first segment in. At the beginning Paul now driving for Dennis would start with a commanding lead that he would keep for the better part of the race. With being sent out in intervals the drivers started out with some fair gaps between them so for the first part of the race positions would remain somewhat constant. The biggest movers in this segment however were Dennis, now driving for Earl, as he would make a charge to try to gain back as much time and positions as he could and Aaron Elsner, now driving for his brother, who would charge up to 2nd. Again the race would remain fairly constant until with about 10 minutes left an incident between Peter Strasser and Adam Dyer saw a full course caution come out and pack up the field. At the restart it was Dennis and Vince Majewski, now driving for Tim, both getting amazing starts and picking up 2 spots each. This would promote Vince to 3rd and Dennis to 7th. After the start all the battles were close but with only a handful of laps left there was little change to the running order would happen. At the end of the race it was Paul taking the flag in 1st and pulling out a lead again, Aaron in 2nd, Vince in 3rd, Zane 4th, Teague Karall 5th, Adam 6th, Dennis 7th, Skip woody 8th, Mark Keeler 9th, and Peter in 10th.
